The house was filled with joy and celebration — the gaye holud ceremony was underway, guests were arriving, and the entire area was lit up with decorations. But suddenly, in the midst of all the festivity, sorrow descended upon the family. The bride-to-be died of a heart attack, leaving the entire village in shock. The heartbreaking incident took place in Balrampur village of Shibganj upazila in Bogura.

The matter was confirmed by Md. Alauddin, acting chairman of Kichak Union. The deceased bride was identified as Moumita Khatun (20), daughter of Gaziur Rahman of Balrampur village. Her wedding was scheduled to take place on Monday.

According to family members, on Saturday (October 11) afternoon, Moumita went to Bogura town with her family for wedding shopping. While returning home around 9 p.m., she suddenly suffered a stroke. She was rushed to TMSS Medical College Hospital, but doctors declared her dead before arrival.

News of Moumita’s death spread quickly, turning the joyful atmosphere into deep mourning. The brightly decorated home fell silent, and grief engulfed her family, relatives, and neighbors.
